Family Camping Trip ‘08!!!! Well, I was pretty excited about this one because I haven’t been able to go regularly since my last job required me to work a lot through the summer especially. Now that I have a regular 9-to-5 job I have my weekends free. So I was stoked about going and seeing a lot of relatives that I hadn’t seen in a while. Unfortunately a couple of the regulars didn’t show up this year but we still had a good time. Having only 3 males there including myself meant I brought way too much beer so I took that back home. I did get to see my cousin Tessa’s “new” baby again who is toddling around now almost walking on her own. The baby’s cousin was there as well and it really is nice to have some children around again; even if they wake up crying in the middle of the night from time to time. haha.

Got a couple walks in, a float around the lake in a kayak, and one of the things I enjoy the most which is sleeping outside in the nice fresh air. I have to thank my mom for letting me use her nice kayak since my aunt’s has a weight limit that I am just a wee bit over. And thanks to Lael for setting it up this year.

There were a few complaints about the state of the group camp site at Deception Pass State Park which could have been better but I won’t elaborate on those here. Seeing the people was the best part for me so without further adieu I will share some of the photos:

Brother And Sister Up To Visit

Aria and Langston came up to stay with me on the weekend of the 4th of July. I was a little worried about their ability to keep from fighting with each other over the weekend but they did alright; considering they’re both teenagers. haha. Ok so they probably won’t appreciate that but it’s true!

Well we hung out and stayed up late playing video games. Sunday I took Langston by the skate-park in Edmonds. so he could skate a bit. He really reminds me of my friend Brandon back in high school. He used to skate everywhere and was always talking about it or reading the magazines.

Well, I got a few pics of Langston Skating and then one group photo of the 3 of us. (more…)

4th of July on Lake Union

I don’t usually do much for the 4th but this year it worked out that I could hang out with my brother and sister, their family and friends! The location was right on Lake Union in front of the barge that is used to launch the fireworks. It was quite literally awesome to be so close. I love to feel the explosions throughout my body as the fireworks shred apart above.

Occasionally the power lines got in the way of a nice shot but otherwise I like a few of the photos. Been a while since I broke out the tripod and played with the manual settings as well so it did me good. Enjoy. (more…)

A Few Walks Lately

I began this post a few weeks ago but had some technical difficulties after uploading the photos and had to upload them again. Since I am lazy it took me a while to get around to it and I didn’t feel like filling out the captions again. So here you have my post; finally.

I’ve managed to go on a few walks lately. I recall when I was younger I never wanted to walk — I always had my bike. If my mom could ever convince me to go for a walk with her I would have to go along on my bike. Well, fast-forward a decade or so and I no longer have a bike and am comfortable just walking. It’s nice exercise!

A couple weekends ago my cousin Lori came over to hang out and I decided we should check out a trail I read about in the community newsletter. It’s over behind the library and I never knew it was there! We only walked for about 10 minutes and turned around. I really just wanted to check it out. I’ll go back there later and try the whole thing. (more…)

Vacation in Singapore

Now that I can finally upload photos to my blog once again I am finally posting photos from my vacation to Singapore! I went back in the beginning of April for two weeks and had a nice time with Daphne. She came out to see me way back in October of 2007 so now was my turn. I was a bit lucky because a couple hours after my vacation was approved a manager wanted to staff me to a show. Fortunately there were other people available that could do it so I still went on vacation.

The flight was very long but no longer than she had to endure coming here. It’s about 10hrs to Tokyo and then another 8hrs to Singapore. So from the time I left my home until I arrived at Daphne’s it was close to 24hrs. It was all worth it when I was there though. One really random event was that one of my coworker’s girlfriend was on the same flight going to do a show in Singapore. I’ve worked with her before on a show so we knew each other somewhat. Hi Meghan!! It was nice to have someone to travel with. She even ended up in the row behind me! Oh yea, I also got one of the seats with power which was a life saver. I watched several movies and caught up on the latest Rally Videos.

So I guess I will mostly tell my story through the photos. For a slide show, click the photo — for a more detailed description, click the caption. It is a fairly large collection of images so if you have a slow connection be aware!
